2007 Ireland – 2 Euro - Treaty of Rome 50th Anniversary

This commemorative €2 coin marks the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome (1957–2007), the agreement that led to the creation of the European Economic Community and laid the foundation for today’s European Union.

The treaty was signed by six founding nations: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and West Germany, known as the “Inner Six.” The obverse features the treaty document over the Piazza del Campidoglio design, symbolizing the historic signing in Rome, while the reverse carries the standard Euro map.
