2021 Canada - 5 ¢, 10 ¢, 25 ¢, $1 & $2 - 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of Insulin

Issued to mark the centenary of the discovery of insulin (1921–2021), one of Canada’s greatest contributions to medical science. The special $2 commemorative coin, designed by artist Jesse Koreck, features overlapping lines forming a stethoscope and a heart—symbolizing life and health—along with a DNA strand representing medical research. Both coloured and non-coloured versions of the $2 coin are included, along with Canada’s 2021 circulation coins: 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, and $1. The obverse depicts the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
