This coin celebrates Elsie MacGill, Canada’s pioneering aeronautical engineer and a champion for women’s rights. The reverse depicts MacGill holding blueprints, with a Hawker Hurricane and Maple Leaf Trainer II in flight—one highlighted in selective colour.
