This commemorative $2 coin marks the 100th birth anniversary of Canadian painter Jean Paul Riopelle. The reverse depicts elements from Panel 29 of L’Hommage à Rosa Luxemburg, one of his most celebrated works, with the “Riopelle 100” centenary mark. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022 dual dates) designed by Susan Taylor. A colourful and artistic tribute, struck in durable bimetallic composition with selective colour application.
