Issued to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice of November 11, 1918, the coin’s reverse by Laurie McGaw depicts a soldier’s helmet above a large poppy, shown in bright red on the colored version. The nickel-plated outer ring features engraved poppies and the bilingual words “REMEMBER / SOUVENIR” with the year 2018. A poignant tribute to the sacrifices of the First World War.
